For those who plan on being an active part of the student body, then there are other things that you want to take into consideration. Things such as the fraternity or sororities that are available in the university. For those who wish to make the most out of their college experience, the extracurricular activities that are offered are definitely something that you want to check out. If you’re a sports fan, then you might want to go to a university that has a lively sports atmosphere.
And finally, the last thing that you want to consider when finding the right college, is the acceptance rate. Make sure that you exceed the requirements set out by the university to ensure that you can become accepted.
Make sure that you use your time wisely while in college and don’t forget that you’re there to make an investment in yourself to get a better education.

All students, regardless of what educational level they are in, dread to take tests. However, college exams pose a difficult challenge because the questions are most likely to be very complicated. If you have not studied very well, what you thought was the right answer in the test may mean a flunking grade in the future.
If you are in college and have an exam coming up, here are some helpful tips that you need to keep in mind for studying prior to the test.
First of all, do not just study a mere few days before an exam is announced. Study daily as if there is going to be a pop quiz. If you make it a point to review your notes daily and read in chapters in advance, the greater will your mind retain important facts that may be asked in a big exam.
There was a time when professors would just simply announce an exam and not saying anything more about it. But, in order to prepare properly for it, you need to ask him or her what to expect from the test. Obviously, you need to inquire what topics will the exam cover. You also need to ask if the exam will comprise of multiple choice, true or false, and essay questions, or a combination of these. Inquire also on how the test will be graded and what would be its percentage in your overall grade.
Once you have gotten this information from your professor, it is now time to hit the books. Choose a study place where you are free from distractions, such as the library. Have everything you need ready, including your notebooks, textbooks, paper, pens and a calculator. Schedule which topics you will study in a particular time. By dividing the test material, you will be able to cover more topics instead of cramming everything into a tiring all-nighter.
Make some study aids to help you in your review. One good example is an outline or timeline which lists down important events, dates and facts. You can also make flashcards wherein you list down pertinent facts as well as mnemonics to help you remember key events and dates.
There are some textbooks that provide short quizzes at the end of each chapter. Take these quizzes to see if you understand the study material. Or you can request for study sheets and practice exams from your professor. The more you give yourself an exam to test your knowledge, the greater will be your confidence for the actual examination.
On the evening prior to your exam, simply read and reread your notes. Do not stay up late as drowsiness the following day can dull your mind and make it difficult for you to remember what you have been studying.

For most of the students, packing for college is like leaving away from home for the first time. There are lots of things that need to be considered and pondered over as if what to buy and how much to store. So, in this case, proper organization is a must. One needs to manage things so that nothing is missed and it’s not extra too. In this case, one should first make a checklist by jotting down all the things, no matter how petty, and figure out what things need to be bought. Shopping should not be delayed and initiated as soon as one gets intimidated about joining date. These way things will go smoothly and last few weeks at home will be stress-free and comfortable.
College packing list should be very precise. You should consider only those things that will be really needed and as there will be not much space to keep all the items. Before going for a shopping you should see what things are already in your home. Few things that can be in the list are mementos or photographs of family members so that you should feel like at home. You should also carry seasonal clothes with you and once you come home in break you can swap clothing for another season. Keep enough clothes by estimating how much laundry you can do. As in the starting during setting and joining you won’t get enough time to do laundry.
College packing list can be minimized if you know your roommates before then this will help you a lot to avoid duplication of things and will also create enough space in the room. There can also be an option of sharing bulky items like a refrigerator, T.V. You should try to put your things in a duffle bag as it carries enough material and does not get heavy on overloading. So you can adjust many things in a single bag. This would be important when you are going by air and can carry luggage only up to certain limit. Sometimes you don’t need to carry everything new. Your friends and roommates may also help you in sharing few things. You can also keep an option of buying certain things from the college place itself. Any non-essential items can be picked up later from home in your next visit.
